Yamaguchi Park is a unique green space in Pamplona, inspired by traditional Japanese gardens. Located in the western part of the city, it was created in 1997 as a symbol of the twinning between Pamplona and the Japanese city of Yamaguchi. Covering an area of approximately 85.000 square meters, the park offers a distinctive landscape that contrasts with the more traditional European-style parks found elsewhere in the region.
The design of Yamaguchi Park follows the principles of Japanese landscaping, featuring winding paths, small hills, and a variety of plant species typical of Japan. One of its most notable elements is the large pond, home to koi fish and aquatic plants, which is crossed by wooden bridges reminiscent of traditional Japanese structures. Small waterfalls, stone arrangements, and carefully pruned trees contribute to the tranquil atmosphere.
Adjacent to the park is the Pamplona Planetarium, a cultural and educational facility that complements the area’s appeal. The park is also well integrated into the urban environment, surrounded by residential areas, making it a popular destination for leisure and outdoor activities.
