Epeleta grill house

Epeleta is a rustic grill house (asador) located in a charming traditional farmhouse in Lekunberri, midway between Pamplona and San Sebastián in Navarra. It is run by the second generation — the daughters Amalur and Oihane — who’ve preserved the founding family’s commitment to quality and authenticity.

It specialises in market-fresh meats and fish expertly cooked over live charcoal, including aged Galician beef, plank-grilled turbot, hake, and churrasco cuts. Generous portions, attentive service, and a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere make it popular for family meals and special occasions.

The dining rooms are warm, finished in wood and stone, with original wooden beams and a cosy rural character.

Family barbecue landmark in Navarra located in a homestead on the outskirts of Lecumberri.

Her specialty is the grill, one of the best nationally, where Cantabrian fish and red meat pass through it.

Great quality, low-maturity senior beef chops, very well grilled, the reason for the visit.

Their home-made starters and desserts do not deserve; mushrooms, jistorra, morcilla, black beans, peppers from Piquillo and Ibarra...

This year Oihane Ansorena, daughter of founder Paco Ansorena has received the Talento Gastro award for the best grill in Navarra.

The other day we went back to Asador Epeleta, where traditional food and quality are mixed.
It’s located in Lekunberri, in a homestead half an hour from Pamplona, and stands out for its spectacular grill.
We start with a jistorra with a delicious flavor, mushrooms mixed with a spectacular yema and a mixed salad that never fails.
We tried their steak tartar for the first time and we were very surprised by its taste, fine bite and spicy touch.
And lastly, we couldn't leave without ordering the chop, hands down the best dish @txogitxu
Really looking forward to coming back.
