LUR Garden is one of the most beautiful and unique botanical gardens in the Basque Country. Located in the green hills of Oiartzun, just a short drive from San Sebastian, this private garden combines landscape design, nature, art, and traditional Basque rural surroundings in a peaceful and carefully maintained environment.
Created by landscape designers Iñigo Segurola and Cristina Enea, LUR Garden was developed around a traditional Basque farmhouse and transformed into a space where visitors can explore different styles of gardening integrated into the natural landscape. The garden blends ornamental plants, ponds, stone paths, terraces, and small forests, creating an atmosphere that changes throughout the seasons.
One of the most interesting aspects of LUR Garden is the way it combines local vegetation with plants and design influences from other parts of the world. Visitors will find Japanese-inspired corners, flower gardens, vegetable areas, sculptures, and carefully designed viewpoints overlooking the surrounding countryside. The result is a garden that feels both artistic and deeply connected to nature.
The site is especially attractive during spring and early summer, when many flowers and trees are in full bloom, although the changing colors of autumn also make it a popular destination for photography and nature lovers.
