The San Blas Fair in Abadiño, held annually on February 3rd, is one of the most important agricultural and livestock fairs in the Basque Country. The origins of the fair date back several centuries, linked to the feast of San Blas, the patron saint of throat ailments. According to tradition, attendees purchase and bless special cords—“los cordones de San Blas”—which are worn around the neck for nine days to protect against throat illnesses.

  3. Crafts and Farming Equipment – Artisans and local businesses display traditional Basque crafts, farming tools, and handmade goods, preserving the region’s artisanal heritage.
